Membership

If you are a current member of the club and are looking to sign up for the online member's area, click here.

If you would like to become a member of the club, Balmain Rowing Club offers Two tiers of membership - an Active / Racing Membership or a Social / Associate Membership.

For both tiers of membership, you need to submit a membership form along with a working with children form as the club has many junior members, both of which are available below. You also need to be nominated by a current member of the club to apply for membership. If you do not know anyone at the club you should accompany your membership with a brief introductory note explaining your rowing history, ability, and the reasons you have for joining the club.

Click here to download the membership form. For more details on each tier of membership, please see below:

  • Active / Racing Membership
In order to Row with the club, you must be an active member. Active membership allows the use of the club's rowing equipment, and gives full voting rights to members. If you would like to race, you must apply as a RACING MEMBER to be a part of the club's seat fees program.

Members can also apply for a 'Temporary Active Membership' which will allow them the same access to the club but for only a limited time - ideal for travellers who would like to keep up their rowing during their stay.

  • Social / Associate membership
Associate members are members of the club, and are eligable to use the hall facilities and vote, but may not use the rowing equipment. Associate membership is ideal for people interested in the club, but who do not Row themselves. This can include parents, family, friends, or anyone keen to take an interest in the life of the club.

Social members are also members of the club, and are eligable to use the hall facilities, but may not use the rowing equipment or vote. This is the Ideal membership for people interested solely in the social functions of the club - or interested in planning their own function - but who do not participate in the rowing or administration of the club.
