Balmain Men's Rowing Club Interlude

 

Letters were received by Balmain Council last night, from the Balmain Rowing Club and the Women’s Rowing club, regarding a club house, which the latter wish to erect on land adjoining that of the men’s establishment.

 

The women’s club pointed out that permission was granted them in 1923, and that the intervening time had been used to collect the necessary funds for the building.  The men’s club protested against the erection of a women’s club-house in such close proximity to their own. Council will invite each club to appoint two representatives to meet in conference.
