Lauren Webber began rowing in 2013 while at PLC Sydney and joined BRC to row in the para rowing squad in 2018.
Despite the difficulties presented by storms and smoke from bushfires, the 2019/2020 rowing season was a successful year for Lauren, winning gold at the NSW Sprints regatta and at the Reindeer regatta and bronze at the State Championships.
Lauren’s results contributed to BRC winning the RNSW Para Rowing Shield in 2018-19 and 2019-2020, and the 2019 and 2020 JB Sharp Regatta series Club Double events.
In October 2019 Lauren represented Australia in the INAS Global Games winning 3 gold and 1 bronze medal on the water and a silver medal at the indoor rowing competition.
In November 2019 Lauren was part of the first BRC para eight to compete in the Head of the Yarra, finishing second in their category.
At the World Rowing Indoor Sprints 2020 competition in April 2020 set a world record in the Women 19-29 PR3 for 100m in time of 21.4sec in April 2020.
Lauren is always proactive rather than reactive, stepping in to help other rowers and coaches at the shed and at regattas.
Lauren was awarded Rowing NSW President’s Award for Para Rowing for 2020.
