Solomon H Hyam

 

 

The new racing eight-oar boat built for the Balmain Rowing club was launched in the presence of a very large gathering of the club’s friends and supporters by Mr G C Murdock, Mayor of Balmain, at the club shed yesterday afternoon. The Mayor named the boat the “S H Hyam” in honor of the club’s patron, and in wishing her a successful career said he would be only too pleased if the club asked him to be present at the hoisting of the Champion Pennant. The Senior crew afterwards tried the new boat, and she suited them very well.
